Because
choosing to buy one product and not another sends
a message. Economically, it's an act in support
of a product, in support of a production process, and in support
of a company.
Choosing
based on price supports the company that's most adept at finding
ways to lower prices.
Choosing
based on packaging and brand recognition supports the company
that's best at marketing.
Choosing
based on what impacts,
positive and negative, the production processes and companies
have on the world does something much bigger, however. It supports
the companies that do the most to protect and enhance the communities,
ecosystems, and
economies in which
they operate.
We're
building Productipedia so we'll all have a tool to help us make
those choices, send those messages, and support the companies
we want to support.
